Upon completion of the teacher training program, you have met our rigorous standards and become a Certified teacher.
YOGAYoga: a Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline, a part of which, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures, is widely practiced for health and relaxation. Which yoga style is suitable for you? Our classes are divided into Levels I, II,  and All Levels. Karma Yoga is based on the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, a sacred Sanskrit scripture of Hinduism. The word "Karma" is derived from the Sanskrit Kri, meaning "to do".  Krishna advocates selfless action as the ideal path to realize the Truth (enlightenment, a life in the light. Bhakti Yoga is love to God and to the spiritual Master. Karma Yoga is doing good to the whole world, to love the whole world and all beings. Krishna taught Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga and Gnani Yoga self-reflection and meditation. These three are the complete way of love. But most important for the world is the yoga of action, of doing good.

Module 1

Anatomy & Alignment: presented through an exclusively yogic lens. You learn key muscle, bone, joint, and connective structures along with terms of movement and alignment principles that foster both understanding and the safe application of asana for a wide range of considerations and abilities.


MODULE 2

Vinyasa, Sequencing & Subtle Body: contains the essentials of how to safely sequence a vinyasa class, and takes this knowledge further by giving you the insights necessary to the sequence in accord with the more esoteric and energetic principles that fuel yoga’s transformational power. Through learning the subtle anatomy (including in-depth work with the chakras and koshas) you gain an experiential understanding of the deeper layers of the body that fundamentally shift how you harness the power of asana practice.


Module 3

Teaching Techniques, Building a Business & Being a Professional: learn the tips, tools, techniques, and strategies you need to develop and hone your skills as an exceptional yoga instructor. By refining your cues, developing a well-rounded class utilizing the power of the web, and increasing your business acumen, this module provides everything you need to embark on a successful teaching career, not to mention leading stellar classes that students never forget.

What is yoga?

The word yoga itself means "union": of the individual consciousness or soul with the Universal Consciousness or Spirit. Though many people think of yoga only as physical exercises — the asanas or postures that have gained widespread popularity in recent decades — these are actually only the most superficial aspect of this profound science of unfolding the infinite potentials of the human mind and soul.

There are various paths of Yoga that lead toward this goal, each one a specialized branch of one comprehensive system:

Hatha Yoga — a system of physical postures, or asanas, whose higher purpose is to purify the body, giving one awareness and control over its internal states and rendering it fit for meditation.

Karma Yoga — selfless service to others as part of one's larger Self, without attachment to the results; and the performance of all actions with the consciousness of God as the Doer.

Mantra Yoga — centering the consciousness within through Japa, or the repetition of certain universal root-word sounds representing a particular aspect of Spirit.

Bhakti Yoga —
 all-surrendering devotion through which one strives to see and love the divinity in every creature and in everything, thus maintaining an unceasing worship.

Jnana (Gyana) Yoga — the path of wisdom, which emphasizes the application of discriminative intelligence to achieve spiritual liberation.

Raja Yoga — the royal or highest path of Yoga, immortalized by Bhagavan Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita and formally systematized in the second century B.C. by the Indian sage Patanjali, which combines the essence of all the other paths.

At the heart of the Raja Yoga system, balancing and unifying these various approaches is the practice of definite, scientific methods of meditation that enable one to perceive, from the very beginning of one's efforts, glimpses of the ultimate goal — conscious union with the inexhaustibly blissful Spirit. It is this direct approach that characterizes Kriya Yoga, the particular form of Raja Yoga meditation taught by Paramahansa Yogananda.

We teach in the traditional yogic methodology, which views Yoga as a lifestyle, a science, and an art.
