Mission statement

To provide comprehensive, in-depth, integrated, student-centered yoga education, along with unparalleled ethical training, utilizing cutting-edge state-of-the-art methods, to ensure a student-centered and results-oriented practice. The curriculum is based upon proven and effective principles utilizing kinesthetic tools and computer technology to provide students with the foundation and skills to build an effective teaching practice of yoga.  The skillset includes the theories, practices, and philosophy of yoga, as well as advanced adjustment training for strengthening poses.  Special focus is given to the practice of the Ashtanga form of yoga.  Marketing and proven business-building approaches are offered with recognition of how a teacher's passion for yoga can be channeled into creative and inspiring ways to build their business.

CODE OF CONDUCT -  ETHICS  POLICIES 

Urban Yoga Shiva Code of Conduct will be discussed during training. Students are required to follow the rules and policies of Yoga Shala and the teacher training program, as well as, Yoga Alliance Code of Ethics Policies include but are not limited to the following:

If the behavior is exhibited that conflicts with the code of conduct, the mission statement of Yoga Teacher Training, and its philosophy, this behavior may be grounds for termination from the program at the discretion of the owner of URBAN YOGA SHIVA. Students dismissed from the program may apply and be considered for a future teacher. We expect students to let the faculty know about any physical limitations so appropriate supports and touch may be suggested. We expect students to be respectful of the faculty’s time and the time allotted for class material. If you have a particular issue, please address it with the faculty outside of class time.

Agree to cooperate fully with any inquiry in relation to behavior and responsibilities. We expect students to treat other yoga teachers and colleagues in a respectful manner, speak respectfully of other yoga traditions and health modalities, communicate with each other and with clients in a courteous, respectful, compassionate, and honest manner.

We expect students to demonstrate respect to all students regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, physical limitation, sexual orientation, or religious affiliation and respect the values, beliefs, and aspirations of all yoga students.

Greet your Teachers with a Namaste Before and After every class.

Ensure you are on time for class or you will not be permitted to enter any class once it has commenced.

• No breach of anyone's confidentiality.
• No Eating inside Urban Yoga Shiva.
• Please keep your personal life private.
• Discipline is an integral part of the training program and so the course routine must be strictly observed.
• Disrespect to rules and regulations could result in termination of studentship there is No refund of any program's fee.
• Absenting oneself from the scheduled program without prior permission of the teacher or manager concerned would be construed as a gross breach of discipline.
• No substance use or drug abuse during any YTT.
• You will be immediately terminated from the program.
• NO SMOKING allowed on the premises.
• Students in the Urban Yoga Shiva School YTT program will abide by all policies and procedures, as described above.
